WHY YOU SHOULD SMOKE CIGARS & WHY YOU SHOULDN’T

I started smoking cigars back when I was a teenager.  It looked cool and all my friends were doing it.  I remember smoking Garcia y Vega English Coronas and thinking to myself, "These things taste bad, but my friends are smoking them and they come in these cool tubes so, I wanna smoke it."  I chocked it down, turned green and yakked out the side of a 1980 Ford Fairmount station wagon.

Cigars for me today are almost the exact opposite.  If a cigar is bad after a few minutes of trying to like it, I'll stop, put the poor thing down and write that one up as, "Not for me..."  One should never NEED to finish a cigar unless that cigar is excellent, well crafted, with a taste that you can enjoy.  From the year that I have spent at RAE's, I can see many types of cigar smokers and many of them have completely different reasons to light a cigar, yet every one of those men and women have 1 thing in common, they see cigars as a choice... ...a freedom in which they cherish.

Smoking cigars is a luxury and a pleasure.  A luxury, in that it must be seen as something that is added to your life to enhance it.  A pleasure, in that you must enjoy this luxury knowing that it will not make you smarter or even make you look better, but it might slow your life down just enough to enjoy a portion of you life that you might miss if you hadn't slowed to experience it. If it is not both of these for you then you should never light one again.  The only addiction I have seen thus far in smoking cigars is the utmost pleasure in choosing which cigar I am going to experience next.

That is a perfect reason to smoke a cigar!
